Hundreds of PMG-certified banknotes from Southeast Asia Offered in January Sale

More than 2,000 banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®), many from Southeast Asia, are featured in an upcoming Trigometric sale, which takes place in four sessions January 7-10, 2022. Online bidding is now underway for all sessions.

The top individual PMG-certified note in the sale is a Straits Settlements / British Administration 1898-1900 5 Dollars graded PMG 20 Very Fine (Session 2, lot 2025). It dates from the dawn of the Straits Dollar, which was used until 1939 in the Straits Settlements, a network of British possessions that included Singapore. This rare note has an estimate of RM120,000 to RM160,000 (about $28,700 to $38,300).

• a group of two Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (1983-84) 50 Ringgits with fancy serial numbers, each graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated EPQ (Session 3, lot 3081) with an estimate of RM120,000 to RM140,000 (about $28,700 to $33,600)
• a Malaya and British Borneo 1961 10 Dollars Specimen Proof graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated (Session 2, lot 2293) with an estimate of RM90,000 to RM120,000 (about $21,600 to $28,700)
• a Sarawak, Government of Sarawak 1919 1 Dollar graded PMG 20 Very Fine (Session 2, lot 2018) with an estimate of RM85,000 to RM100,000 (about $20,400 to $24,000)
• a Malaysia, Bank Negara 2007 50 Ringgit Commemorative with a Solid-8 Serial Number graded PMG 67 Superb Gem Unc EPQ (Session 3, lot 3086) with an estimate of RM80,000 to RM100,000 (about $19,200 to $24,000)
• a group of two Malaya / British Administration notes — a 1940 10 Dollars graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine EPQ and a 1941 (ND 1945) graded PMG 58 Choice About Unc EPQ — (Session 2, lot 2123) with an estimate of RM75,000 to RM80,000 (about $18,000 to $19,200)
