Rare Hong Kong Banknote Certified by PMG Offered by Heritage

Over 400 PMG-certified notes are being offered in the World Paper Money Signature Auction on December 5, 2022.

More than 400 rare Chinese banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®), including a great rarity from Hong Kong, are available to bidders in a Heritage Auctions sale. Bidding for the World Paper Money Signature Auction - Hong Kong runs through December 5, 2022.

Among the many notable PMG-certified items available in this auction is a Hong Kong, Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China 1910-11 500 Dollars graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated (lot 23298) with an estimate of at least $150,000. The first branch in Hong Kong was opened in 1859, a decade after the Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China was founded in 1850. According to the PMG Population Report, there are only three Remainders of this catalog number, with this example being the highest-graded.
